Life is a dream - realise it.”

What does your future look like?

As we continue to explore and refine our goals and those of our clients, it’s important to consider the wider implications of achieving them.
To help make the goal even more compelling, it is good to think of the “big picture” and explore the long-term effects of achieving it.
For example, recently, a client wanted to overcome his fear of flying - he was in his fifties and had never flown. We explored the possibilities of being confident to board an aircraft and travel to another country.
Initially, his motivation was to take his young family to visit Lapland and create memories that would stay with them forever, for all the right reasons.
As we explored the answers to the question, “How will this affect your life, your family, your job?”, the answers became more profound.
For my client, having the ability to calmly board an aircraft would mean he would be seen as a role model for his young children. They would see him facing challenges with a sense of curiosity and calm. In turn, they would learn to approach challenges and new experiences in the same way, creating a positive “ripple effect” down the generations.
As we continued to explore the future, he recognised there would be more opportunities for career advancement and higher earnings would improve life for the whole family.
Whatever goals you or your clients are exploring, remember to connect the achievement to the bigger picture, and make it even more compelling.
